Surprise

So, the bank I referred to in this post has once again gone down their wonderful path of stupidity. Granted, it's partially my fault for not checking the card ... but still.

I lost my check card (more didn't realize it was the wrong card, explained here). Apparently, I cancelled my credit card with them, not the check card. Never mind that I have never used the card and only have it as overdraft protection on my checking account, they cancelled the credit card and not the check card.

I found out about this when I called the bank a second time because it wasn't working in the ATM machine. Actually, it was working, but wouldn't allow me to make deposits. Finally it hit me that this wasn't the check card. OK, I'm an idiot, but since I never really use the card I haven't had the opportunity for it not to work. Luckily, when I called the bank the non-cancelled, lost check card hadn't been used, so I cancelled it, explained to the representative on the phone what had happened and everything was fine.

I didn't say it was an interesting story.
